I am a proud Texas native, born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. My professional journey began early—working part-time at a major grocery chain during high school and continuing through college at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), where I earned my bachelor’s degree debt-free. Upon graduating in 2007, I launched my accounting career at Exco Resources in Dallas as a property accountant.
In pursuit of further growth, I returned to UTD in 2009 and 2010 to complete advanced accounting coursework, earning the necessary credits to sit for the CPA exam. I became a licensed CPA in 2011, which marked a pivotal point in my career. From there, I advanced through various accounting roles, ultimately stepping into leadership and management positions.
Between 2007 and 2015, I gained deep industry expertise working in the oil and gas sector for publicly traded companies such as Exco Resources and Magnum Hunter Resources, where I worked within SEC and SOX-regulated environments and developed full-cycle accounting skills. In 2015, I transitioned to the private equity space, leading accounting teams, managing financial operations for mineral interest owners, and handling all accounting, finance, and reporting functions as both a controller and CFO. I also worked closely with banks and auditors to support strategic growth.
In 2022, I took on a consulting role with PetroLedger, a firm that serves a diverse range of private energy clients. Drawing on my leadership experience, I successfully oversaw a department managing over 120 clients, further refining my ability to deliver high-quality accounting services across a variety of business needs.
In 2024, I founded Falls Business Consulting, LLC (FBC) Accounting Solutions to partner with small and mid-sized businesses, offering tailored accounting, CFO, and advisory services. With nearly two decades of experience, I am passionate about helping businesses grow, streamline operations, and save money.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors—hiking, swimming, and barbequing—and making lasting memories with my family, especially on summer road trips. We are active in our local church, and our faith in Jesus Christ and commitment to serving others are central to our lives. I approach every client relationship with integrity, honesty, and a genuine desire to help them succeed.
Accomplishments
- During my first year with a client services firm, PetroLedger Accounting & Land, that handles multiple oil and gas clients, all with different accounting deadlines and statements of work. I was able to streamline the onboarding process from the Client Success group to Private Client once software conversion was complete. Managing this task helped the Private Client team achieve better client satisfaction from inception and finding the right specialists to maintain the client accounts was key to client retention.
- During my tenure at Maguire Oil Company (MOC), I streamlined the recording of cash receipts to scan check deposits and receive mostly wires and paperless files. This helped MOC to operate more efficiently with knowing how much cash was available and facilitated smoother audits. Managed working/royalty interests for oil and gas properties across nine states with the purpose of increasing revenues and lowering expenses. MOC added $10 million in O&G assets from 2016 – 2021.
- During my tenure at Halff Energy, a private mineral interest family office, I maintained a strong relationship with their investor’s bank executives to improve cash reporting for all of the various reporting entities. I hired and supervised personnel that performed the critical accounting functions and continuously made improvements to the current accounting software (Pak Energy) which expedited both data entry and reports to investors and third parties.
- At Magnum Hunter Resources (MHR), I successfully established the property accounting department and implemented new procedures and processes for monthly close and financial reporting. I assisted in building SOX controls around each process within the property accounting department. Responsible for calculating and recording a divestiture of assets and property sold for more than $400 million. Trained two accountants in property accounting and collaborated with the corporate controller to reduce our monthly GL close from 10 days to 6 days.
